Wellhopegill Cottage is a rustic traditional stone built miner's
cottage dating from 1640. The cottage is set high on a hillside above the
village of Nenthead with spectacular views. It makes a great central base for
many activities, from the outdoor such as walking, cycling, mountain biking,
golfing and even mine exploring to the more relaxing and sedate like visiting
market towns, food and drink, swimming / spa, star gazing or just plain doing
nothing.
Nenthead is a small village approximately 10 minutes from
Alston (the highest market town in England) in the heart of the North Pennines
with easy access to the Lake District, Northumberland National Park and The
Dales, Carlise, Durham City and Newcastle. The village centre is just a 5
minute walk down a hill, where you will find the Community Shop, the Overwater
Restaurant, a playground, The Miners Arms Pub and the historical Nenthead Mines
complex. |
